Classroom Environment

I would like for the students to feel welcomed and comfortable from the very first day of class.  As such I will greet them at the door personally on the very first day.  As I begin to come to know each and every student that day, I will find a compliment for them (a sincere one mind you - no false flattery) one that is a reflection of some trait or characteristic that seems to stand out in them.  The classroom setting will be laid out in such a way that it is upbeat and conducive to a learning environment.  Diversity will be a part of any group of children and this will be celebrated.  Coming from a corporate background I have a unique perspective of how we have moved to a global economy today and the necessary traits and people skills needed to be successful today in the work place.  Our ultimate goal is of course helping our children to become productive and happy citizens, socially and economically, and our classroom will reflect this throughout.
